The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival (SSJF) is a celebration of jazz music, featuring performances by nationally recognized and regional jazz artists, as well as youth and community education for residents and visitors of East Lansing. For twenty-four years, the SSJF has saluted jazz—one of the truly original American art forms—by offering a free, multiple-stage, live outdoor music event in a lively setting.
The festival features two stages. The Founders' Stage, named after the festival's founders, Al and Beth Cafagna, showcases a range of artists from Grammy-nominated professionals to beloved local performers. Join us for this free two-day event and immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of jazz, enjoy the lively atmosphere, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of this timeless music genre.
