Nordic Pineapple B&B Policies

We want every stay at The Nordic Pineapple to be something you look back on fondly, and these policies exist to protect that experience for every guest who walks through our doors. We are a small, owner-operated inn and every reservation matters deeply to us. We appreciate you taking a few minutes to read through these before your arrival. Please reach out with any questions at all -- we are always happy to talk things through.

Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in is between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm. If you expect to arrive later than 9:00 pm please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.

Early check-in between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm is available for $30 and can be added during booking.

Check-out is at 11:00 am. Late check-out until 12:00 pm is available for $20 and must be requested before 10:00 am on your departure day, subject to availability.

Guests who have not departed by 11:15 am and have not arranged a late check-out will be automatically charged the $20 late check-out fee to the card on file.

Cancellation Policy -- Please Read Carefully

We know that life is unpredictable, and we genuinely wish we could accommodate every situation. As a small, owner-operated inn with only seven suites, every reservation has real impact. When a guest cancels, we have often already turned away other guests for those same dates. For that reason our cancellation policy is a true policy, not a suggestion, and we are unable to make exceptions regardless of circumstance. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance if an unexpected cancellation would cause financial hardship.

Non-Refundable Rate: Reservations booked at our non-refundable rate are not eligible for refunds, credits, or changes under any circumstances, including illness, family emergencies, or weather. The full cost of the reservation will be charged.

Peace of Mind Rate: Reservations may be canceled up to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival for a $30 cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival or no-shows will be charged in full. This rate must be selected at the time of booking and cannot be applied after a reservation is made.

Groups reserving more than two rooms are subject to a 30-day cancellation notice. All fees above apply.

We strongly encourage all guests to consider travel insurance. It is an inexpensive way to protect yourself against the unexpected.

Children

We love welcoming families to The Nordic Pineapple and have designed our Yellow Pig suite specifically with families in mind, sleeping up to five guests across two connected rooms.

Please note: We welcome children ages 5 and older only. We are unable to accommodate infants, toddlers, or children under the age of 5 under any circumstances, and we ask that you confirm the ages of all children in your party before booking. We recognize this can be disappointing and we are sorry if it affects your plans -- this policy exists to ensure a comfortable and peaceful experience for all of our guests.

All children must be supervised at all times on inn property. Children should never be left unattended in common areas or guest suites. Parents and accompanying adults are fully responsible for the behavior and safety of children in their care. The inn does not provide high chairs, portable cribs, or children's menus.

Pet Policy

For the comfort and safety of all our guests, pets are not permitted at The Nordic Pineapple. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged for any guest who brings a pet onto the property.

We warmly welcome certified service animals with appropriate documentation. If you will be accompanied by a service animal please let us know in advance so we can ensure everything is ready for your arrival.

Smoking and Vaping

The Nordic Pineapple is a completely smoke-free property. This policy applies to all forms of tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-cigarettes, and vaping devices without exception.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on our property, including guest suites, all indoor and outdoor common areas, the porches (including the private porch attached to The Pink Pumpkin suite), the firepit area, and the entrance to the inn. We understand this may be inconvenient in cold or wet weather, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

A $250 fee will be charged to your card for any violation of this policy. If a suite requires excessive cleaning or remediation, additional charges will apply at a minimum rate of $95 per hour. Violations may also result in being asked to leave the property immediately. This policy is also governed by Michigan State Law.

Parking

We are pleased to offer off-street parking on our grounds adjacent to the inn. To ensure fair access for all guests, each suite is allocated one parking space. We completely understand that travel sometimes means multiple vehicles, and we want to be upfront about this limitation before you arrive. Any additional vehicles will need to use street parking, which is available nearby. If you anticipate needing more than one space please reach out to us in advance and we will do our best to help you plan accordingly.

Outside Guests and Visitors

Part of what makes The Nordic Pineapple special is the sense of privacy and calm it offers every guest. To protect that experience for everyone staying with us, we have a few simple guidelines around visitors.

Non-registered guests are welcome for brief visits only, but must be pre-authorized by Greg, Kjersten, or Darci before arriving at the inn. We ask that all visitors park on the street rather than in our guest lot.

We completely understand the impulse to show off this beautiful home to friends and family. We would want to do the same! However, unannounced or extended visits can disrupt the experience of other guests and interrupt the work our team is doing to take care of everyone on property.

To arrange a visitor, simply give us a call or mention it at check-in. We are always happy to work with you when we know in advance.

Our Peaceful Environment

The Nordic Pineapple is a peaceful, family-friendly space and we ask all guests to help us keep it that way. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. We ask that firearms and weapons remain secured in your vehicle during your stay. Guests are welcome to bring and enjoy adult beverages responsibly.

Photography

We love that our home and grounds make such a beautiful backdrop for photos and we are happy to be part of your special memories. To protect the privacy of all our guests we ask that you let us know in advance if you plan to take photos on the property, and that you never photograph other guests without their permission.

A Few Practical Things

Open flames including candles are not permitted in guest suites or common areas as required by fire code.

Motor homes, RVs, and trailers cannot be accommodated on our grounds.

Exercise equipment may not be attached to any wall, door, casing, or furniture.

Complimentary high-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi is available throughout the inn.

Special Requests

The more notice you give us the better. We will always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests but planning ahead helps us make sure your stay is everything you are hoping for. Please reach out before your arrival with anything on your mind.
